| The Stalker by Makoto Sagara |

| One Part | ||||
| Disclaimers: Don't own Weiß Kreuz, though I wish I did. Ken is my god. Youji is my love. Omi is my best friend. Aya is the greatest, besides Heero. I have no money, so suing me would be pointless. A couple of non-series characters are in this, but not to disturb the plot of the anime. That would suck. Also, I am making NIL off this story, because it was only written to entertain my Weiß ML, since I promised this fic to them a long time ago. The Stalker by Makoto Sagara Kudou Youji walked silently down the dark and quiet streets. He was so deep in thought about the person he was going to meet for dinner, that he almost missed the soft steps following him, matching him step for step. He shook his head, and listened. They were there, most definitely. Soft, cautious, and clumsy, they were behind him all right. He wasn't imagining them. He stopped abruptly. The footsteps stopped, rather clumsily, as if they were avoiding falling down. He quickly turned his head around. No one was there. 'Ok, he thought, if I'm not imagining them, then this person is really swift.' He started again, listening hard for the steps. He got about 10 feet when they started again. He stopped and turned again. No one. This was getting odd. 'Who is this? Schwartz? A disgruntled ex-lover? Maybe, on the last one, but I doubt that. I'm going to find out before it ruins my dinner tonight.' He walked for another 20 paces, and then suddenly turned around. A girl, about 15, with little brown hair and big baby-doll eyes, stood there with the look of a deer caught in the headlights. Her face slowly turned an intricate shade of crimson. Then, she took off running in the opposite direction. 'A little girl? What the hell?' "Wait… OY! CHOTTO MATTE!" When the girl didn't stop, Youji took off after her. He caught up with her about two blocks later. Holding her arm, he turned her around to face him. "Ok. Girl, I don't know who you are, but spill it. Why are you following me?" "Ano, Kudou-sensei, I wasn't following you." She weakly attempted to lie. "Bull. You've been following me for 10 blocks now. What gives?" "N-nothing, I swear." "Yeah right. You could at least tell me what your name is, neh little stalker?" He lightly joked. She blushed even more at the nickname. "Hanabashi Kiokou. Watashi wa Hanabashi Kiokou. And, I am not a stalker…Kudou-sensei." "Fine, you're not a stalker. So why are you following me?" "My friends drug me to the flower shop one day, and… Oh, ghodz, this is embarrassing. I was wondering how old you were." Youji started laughing uncontrollably. "You wanted to know how old I was? That's a new one." She grew indignant. "What is so funny?" "Look, Kiokou-chan, I'm not interested. I'm 26 and not looking forward to going to jail. Why don't you go bother Omi-kun or Ken-kun? I'm sure they would be more suited to a girl your age." He looked at his watch. "Oh shit! I'm late. He's going to kill me!" He started running down the street. "Ja, Kiokou-chan, have a nice life!" " JERK!" She screamed at the shrinking figure. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* "You're late." A red hair man stoically replied. "I know, Aya-kun, gomen ne, but I got held up by a personal stalker. She is cute though." Youji replied wearily as he sat down at the table in the restaurant. "Hn. I bet." Youji looked around the room, and then at his "date" for the evening. "Why do we always come to the same place every time we go out, Aya? It's getting boring. Can't I pick the place for once?" Fujimiya Aya looked up from the menu he had, and glared at his companion. "Iie. The last time I let you do that, we ended up at a crazy bar with wild kids all over the place. Besides, I like this place. It's quiet, and the others don't know about it." "Not yet, anyway." Youji sighed. "This place is boring. It's too quiet. Come on, Aya, I know this great Italian place a couple of blocks up." "Iie." "You…" Youji was cut off by the arrival of the waitress. "Konbanwa, watashi wa Miaka. How are you gentlemen tonight?" "Fine." Aya replied curtly. "That's good. Now tonight's specials are…" *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Youji woke up the next morning, in Aya's bed, and walked to his own room to shower and change to start a new day of pretending to enjoy flowers. 'If we didn't need this cover, I would quit.' He made his way to the kitchen, which was occupied with the other members of the team. Omi was eating that disgusting sugary cereal that he adored. Youji silently wondered when they would have to take the boy to the dentist to get a cavity filled. Ken was watching the small TV, while drinking a cup of coffee. Aya was drinking a cup of coffee while reading the paper. 'Homey, ain't it?' He darkly thought. He poured himself a cup of the dark, strong coffee, and sat at the table. "I miss anything while I was in the shower?" "Not much. They found the bodies of our targets from the night before last." Ken replied nonchalantly. "Only took them two days." Aya replied sardonically. "What did you expect? The cops are a joke sometimes." Youji said. "I thought that even they would have found those bodies yesterday." Omi added. He looked at his watch. "Darn. I'm going to be late. Ken, would you give me a ride?" "Sure, let me grab my jacket. Meet you outside in two." "Kay." He ran out the door. Ken disappeared as well. "Those two seem to be a lot friendlier nowadays." Youji mused. "What did you expect? Omi's been spending the night with Ken for about two months now," was all Aya said. "How did "I" of all people miss that?" "You've been busy yourself." "Was that humor, Fujimiya?" "What of it?" "You actually have a sense of humor. I have to call the press." Youji jumped from his seat. "It's your day to mind the register. I have to run some errands. Ken should be back soon. He needs to take inventory." "Damn. I hate the register. All these baka asking really dumb questions. What do I look like? An encyclopedia?" Aya glared at his lover. "Iie, you look like you work in a flower shop, so you should know something about the things in the store." He put down his paper. "Now, you should really be opening the store soon. I'll be back around lunch. Ja." He got up from the table, and a couple of minutes later, the door slammed. "I hate days like this." *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Ken came back about 15 minutes after Youji opened shop. Youji gave Ken a Glance. "Didn't know it took so long to take Omi-kun to school and come back. Run into some traffic?" "Shut up, Youji. I don't ask why you come stumbling out of Aya's room, do I?" "Touchy this morning, aren't we?" "Sorry. I tried to give him a kiss, and some girl showed up, and started draping herself all over him. It wasn't a pleasant thing." "OUCH! Forget I even said anything." "Forgotten. Now, what did Aya want me to do today?" "Inventory. Said to list what we need more so I could go get it tomorrow." "Great. I need a break from everything right now. Who's making or getting lunch?" "Don't know. It's up for grabs, I'd guess. Though, Aya said he'd be back by then." "Alright. Well, I'm headed for the back. Holler if you need anything." "Will do." *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* The rest of the morning passed in normal boredom. A couple of ladies came in to look around. Youji flirted and managed to sell a couple of bouquets that he himself had arranged. Aya returned at lunch with food for the guys. Youji took it back in the storeroom and ate silently with Ken. After lunch the rest of the day was normal, until a guy who looked to be about Omi's age came into the shop. He was a big guy, 190 cm, probably 113 kg, from what Youji could guess. He would have been handsome, if it weren't for the snarl that was plastered across his face. He came up to the counter. "Are you Kudou Youji?" He grunted. "Yeah. Who wants to know?" "My name is Hamakara, and I'm going to beat the crap out of you." "Whoa. What are you talking about? I don't know you. What the hell is going on?" "Kiokou was right. You are a jerk. Now, prepare to die." "Kiokou? Who is…Wait is she a girl about 15, brown hair, big doe-like eyes, and a pretty face?" "Yeah, and I'm going to make you pay for upsetting her." "Upsetting her? What the hell? She was following me last night. I just told her it was a no-go for her. Not worth the trouble, or the jail time." "What?" He had the look that some people get when Youji came up from behind them with his garrote. "Look, Hama…eh…" "Hamakara." "Hamakara, I don't have any intention of going out with her, if that's what you were thinking." He flushed a few shades of red. "Well... Um, I'm sorry to have bothered you then." "No problem. May I ask you a personal question though?" "I guess." "You like her, don't you?" "Uh, yeah..." "So, why don't you ask her out?" "Because she only likes older men. And I don't count." He stated. "How old are you?" "17." "I'd say that's older." Youji thought for a moment. "How about I help you out? Just this once though, and only because I'm a hopeless romantic and a softie. Besides, I'd hate to mess up that nice face of yours." "You'd do that?" "Sure. Just this once. Just don't tell anyone. Now, here's the thing..." *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Kiokou showed up at the shop after school with all her friends. It was the usual mess of schoolgirls all looking and fighting for the attention of the guys while they tried to work. Fortunately, for Youji's plan, that day there was some buzz going around the shop about Youji and Kiokou from the other night. "Is it true Kiokou? Did you actually talk to him?" "H-hai." She blushed as the other girls around her sighed and had envious looks on their faces. "It's not fair." One stated, obviously jealous. "What was he like by himself?" The girl who asked the first question asked, looking directly at Youji. "Well, at first he was nice, but then he looked at his watch, and just blew me off. I just don't know about him." "He can't be like you described him. He's so dreamy. Kiokou, what does he sounds like up close?" The girl had little stars in her eyes and a faraway look on her face. "Well… He's voice is deep and rich. It's intoxicating." All the girls sighed. They all jumped when Youji walked up to the group. "Konnichi wa, minna." "K-konnichi wa, Kudou-sensei." All the girls replied simultaneously. "Kiokou, may I speak with you for a moment?" The girl blushed. "Alone." He added for effect. The girls gave Kiokou dirty looks, but moved away, nonetheless. "H-hai, Kudou-sensei?" Kiokou stuttered. "Youji, please. Well, Kiokou-chan, I was wondering if you had any plans for tonight. I am going to a restaurant, and you are welcome to join me. Interested?" One of his eyebrows shot up, and he had a slight grin on his face. "Ano, uh, hai…" "Good. Here's the address." He gave he a slip of paper. "7 o'clock. Don't be late. Well, I have to go. Work and all. Ja." He slipped through the shop to the counter. Kiokou ran out of the shop before the other girls could pester her with questions. She was on cloud nine, and this day was the best day of her life. "All according to plan." Youji whispered as he watched the girl run down the street, followed by her questioning girlfriends. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* At 7 o'clock, the girl walked into the agreed restaurant and looked for her dinner companion. A couple eating a romantic dinner, two guys sitting together talking, and a lone guy roughly around her age were seated in the room. She looked around, and noticed Youji with…Aya-kun? That was weird. She walked farther into the room and the hostess approached her. "Ah, are you Kiokou-san?" "Hai." "Good. Your dinner companions were awaiting your arrival. I'll lead the way." She led Kiokou to the table with Youji and Aya. Youji stood and pulled out a chair for her to sit in. "Kiokou-chan, you are on time. That's good. Aya hates it when people are late." He sat down after she was seated. "What's going on? I thought you wanted to have dinner with me." "I do, but I thought Aya would like to come as well. You don't mind, do you?" "I guess not. O genki desu ka, Aya-san?" "Boku wa genki desu, domo arigatou. Anata?" "Genki desu. So…" "Oh, I almost forgot." Youji stood up. "I'll only be a minute. Excuse me." He went over to the table with the lone boy. Kiokou looked at the table. He looked oddly familiar. She didn't know why, but she suddenly was a little sorry that she agreed to come. Youji returned with the young man. "Kiokou, I'm sure you know Hamakara-san. Hamakara, that is Fujimiya Aya-kun, and of course Kiokou-chan." The young man blushed. "Konbanwa, Kiokou." She grew bright red. "Konbanwa, Hamakara." "Ok, now that our party is all gathered, how about ordering some food?" Youji said, as he motioned for the waitress. He looked around the table. A fuming girl, a bumbling boy, and silent Aya were his dinner companions. 'Damn, this is going to be a little harder than I thought. Alright, I guess I'll have to carry this conversation.' He cleared his throat. "So, Hamakara, what's your personal name? You didn't tell me before." "Daisuke. Hamakara Daisuke." "Why don't you tell me why I'm here Youji-san?" Kiokou replied icily. "Fine. You are here to talk to Daisuke. I am too old for you. I told you that a couple of nights ago. But, it seems that Daisuke here is interested in you. So talk. Now, he approached me earlier today. He threatened to "kick my ass"; I believe that was his exact phrasing. So I had him tell me why. It seems our friend here," he pointed to Hamakara, "likes you, but doesn't think you even noticed him. So in order for us all to be friends, you two are going to converse. End of story." She looked at Youji, then Aya, and finally, Daisuke. "Hamakara-sempai, you… like me?" He got even redder than before. "Hai…" She turned to Youji. "So, why is he here?" She indicated the only person at the table yet to speak, Aya. "I am his partner, so to speak. I came to make sure nothing went wrong. That is all." Aya said stonily. "Konbanwa, minna-san? Lovely evening isn't it?" The bubblehead waitress replied. "Are you ready to order?" "Yes." Youji gave the waitress his order, and the others hastily did the same. "Ok, I'll be back with your drinks." She disappeared as swiftly as she appeared. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Dinner was started and finished in halting conversation. When it was finished, Youji and Aya excused themselves. They paid the check, and walked to the table to collect their coats. "Well, thank you for a lovely evening you two. Unfortunately, Aya and I have to go. Have fun. Dinner has been taken care of." "Nice to meet you." Aya quietly replied as he left the restaurant. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Next week, Youji was working the counter again and cursing his luck. He looked up from a manga he had managed to sneak past Aya, and saw two figures walk past the windows of the store. Kiokou and Daisuke. "Hmmm. I guess it wasn't that bad of a plan after all.' "Youji! What are you doing?" He hid the manga under the cash register. "Nothing, Aya-kun. Nothing." He sighed, and returned to being bored until the girls would show up. 'Another day in the life of Weiss.' He thought miserably. ~Owari~ |
